Principle for Toxoplasma Ab Igm/Igg Test strip
Feline TOXO Antibody Rapid Test kit is based on cross-flow immunotomography sandwich method. The test card has a test window to observe the test run and read the results. Before you run the test, the test window has an invisible T1 zone, a T2 area, and a C (control) area. When the treated sample is applied to the sample hole on the device, the liquid flows through the surface of the test strip and reacts with the pre-coated toxoplasmosis recombinant antigen. If there is an toxoplasmosis antibody in the specimen, a visible T-line appears.Line C should always appear after the application sample, which represents a valid result. In this way, the device can accurately indicate the presence of toxoplasmosis antibodies in the specimen.
Introduction to Toxoplasma
The life history of Toxoplasma gondii is relatively complex. The whole process needs to go through two types of hosts: intermediate hosts and terminal hosts. The forms of parasites in the host are also various, including tachyzoites with strong infectivity, slow-growing and poor infectivity. Bradyzoites and oocysts, etc.
(1) Intermediate hosts: warm-blooded animals such as humans, dogs, cats, and mice
In the intermediate host, Toxoplasma gondii will complete the extraintestinal development process and enter into cells of various tissues and organs (brain, eye, lung, liver, lymph, muscle, etc.) through blood or lymph circulation to develop and proliferate, causing damage to corresponding organs and tissues , the process does not excrete the oocysts through the feces.
(2) Terminal host: only cats
In the terminal host, Toxoplasma gondii completes the development of the intestinal phase. The parasite colonizes the intestinal epithelial cells, develops and proliferates to form oocysts, then destroys the epithelial cells and returns to the intestinal lumen, and the oocysts are excreted with the cat's feces. The oocysts entering the environment develop into infectious mature oocysts in 2-4 days, posing a threat to other susceptible animals.
The process from colonization to expulsion of the oocysts takes approximately 7-20 days, depending on the cat. As the only terminal host, the cat produces antibodies during infection, and after the antibodies are produced, the oocysts are no longer expelled
TEST PROCEDURE for Toxoplasma Ab Igm/Igg Test strip llow all materials, including samples and test equipment, to recover to 15-25 ºC before testing.
-Remove the test device from the aluminum foil bag and place it horizontally.
-Use a capillary dropper to put one drop of the prepared sample into the sample hole s of the test device. Then 2 drops (about.Immediately put 80 μ l of the assay buffer into the sample well.
- 5-10 minutes to explain the results. The result after 10 minutes is invalid
