Breif Introduction for Feline Giardia and Tritrichomonas Foetus
Tritrichomonas foetus
Tritrichomonas foetus, also known as Trichomonas, is a tiny unicellular protozoa that can infect a variety of animals. One of the most contagious reasons, it enjoys a certain reputation in the cat world because of its difficult diagnosis, stubbornness, easy recurrence, and susceptibility to contagion.
Clinical symptoms of Tritrichomonas fetus infection:
Some healthy adult cats are infected with Tritrichomonas fetus and will not have obvious external manifestations, while young or immunocompromised cats will have more obvious symptoms.
Mainly as follows:
1. Persistent or recurring diarrhea, sometimes with blood in the stool
2. The tail and around the anus are heavily contaminated with stool
3. Abdominal distention, bowel, flatulence
4. Hair becomes messy and dull
Giardia is a protozoan parasite that infects the small intestine of cats and can cause diarrhea. Kittens (especially under 1 year old) and cats living in multi-cat environments are susceptible. Giardia has two forms: trophozoites and cysts.
symptom
Young dogs and cats often present with acute diarrhea, with mushy feces mixed with blood, mucus, sour and foul feces, occasional vomiting, decreased appetite, and weight loss.
If puppies and cats are not diagnosed and treated in time, they often die of cachexia, dehydration, and hypoglycemia due to prolonged diarrhea, malnutrition, etc. Adult dogs and cats often have long-term soft stools.
