Pet Birds Salmonella Antigen Rapid Test

Short Introduction
All species of birds can be infected by salmonella, it depends on the level of health within your bird, its health, and now potent the bacteria are.
The Pet birds Salmonella Ag Test is a lateral flow immunochromatographic assay for the qualitative detection of Pet birds Salmonella antigen (PB.Salmonella Ag) in secretions from bird's cloaca or feces.

Symptoms of Salmonella in Birds

-Poop droppings of a sulphur yellowish green colour is very much a symptom of this microorganism
-Your bird may have a 'fluffed up' appearance which is the sign of an unwell companion 
-Damages to vital organs such as liver, spleen, kidney or heart 
-Dermatitis and signs of scratching more than usual
-Weight loss and diarrhea can occur 
-Arthritis is a symptom with pigeons 
-Conjunctivitis in extreme cases 
-Excessive persistent thirst

Principle
The Pet birds Salmonella Ag Test is based on sandwich lateral flow immunochromatographic assay. The test device has a testing window for the observation of assay running and result reading. The testing window has an invisible T (test) zone and a C (control) zone before running the assay. When the treated sample was applied into the sample hole on the device, the liquid will laterally flow through the surface of the test strip and react with the pre-coated monoclonal antibodies. If there is Salmonella antigen in the specimen, a visible T line will appear. The C line should always appear after a sample is applied, which indicates a valid result. By this means, the device can accurately indicate the presence of Salmonella antigen in the specimen.

Test Procedure-Collect bird's cloacal secretions or feces with the swab and make the swab wet sufficiently.
-Insert the swab into the provided assay buffer tube. Agitates it to get efficient sample extraction.
-Take out the test device from the foil pouch and place it horizontally.
-Suck the treated sample extraction from the assay buffer tube and place 4 drops into the sample hole "S" of the test device.
Note: If the liquid will not flow through the surface of the test strip in 30 seconds, please add another drop of the treated sample solution.-Interpret the result in 5-10 minutes. Result after 15 minutes is considered as invalid.
